what do you think of blue orchid and white rose bouquets?
My wedding will be Sept 17, 2011 and I was thinking of blue dendrobium orchids with white roses for my bouquets..also blue orchids floating in my centerpieces with a floating votive candle…and the blue orchids on my wedding cake…the gowns are going to be plum (the blue orchids are light blue on the inside and purple on the outer part that’s why i’m going with plum gowns for bridesmaids) and the groomsmen’s ties will be light blue to match the blue of the orchid… obviously my dress will be white..also does anyone know if blue orchid and white rose bouquets would be more on the expensive side for flowers? First of all, congratulations!
Blue dendrobium orchids offer a lot of contrast to whatever flower it is put next to. And next to white roses, the contrast would be spectacular. Roses are a more classic staple in wedding flowers and the dendrobium orchids will add “freshness” to your bouquet. As far as price goes, dendrobium orchids seem to be the least expensive of the orchids available in the flower trade(at least here, in PR). So if you have a budget to keep, but must have orchids, they are your best choice.
Depending on the shape and size of the bride’s bouquet, something with those flowers starts at around $60 to $70 each where I work.
