What do you think of this poem by me?
[title] White Roses [title]
The marriage bloomed like a flowering rose
White with purity, virtue and love
Overwhelmed with promise that seemed to last
The new bond of affection did not wilt at first.
They thought the white roses would be a sign
For a future of prosperity, babies and all
But alas, no, in came the gatecrasher
The alcholic who went to Heineken’s Bar.
It happened at night when all was quiet,
In came the man who drove the truck
He was a prick who drank too much beer,
Rammed into the bridal car, causing a stir.
Life isn’t a bouquet of white roses, my friend.
Remember – your beer can be a fiend.
Okay. Nice poem you have there.
And I don’t agree with jennifer d above because not all poems need to rhyme. like free-verse poems.
Secondly, it makes all the sense in the world because really, we shouldn’t drink too much beer.
Here are some tips:
1) Stick to one rhyme scheme and make up your mind. Do you want to have it free-verse or rhymed?
2) Make it longer. These type of poems need to be longer to have a deeper meaning to it.
