Gardenia Bridal Bouquet and Ideas for centerpieces?
I really want a gardenia and lily bouquet. I’ve heard from some people gardenias are a Winter flower, & from some they aren’t. (The wedding is 12/28/08.) So which is it? According to google, it is a winter flower. I’m just not sure. They always seem to bloom around here at the end of Summer. Also, what could I add to the bouquet to give it some color? My colors are marine blue and platinum. Would a simple silver ribbon be okay, or should I have more?
Also, I’m looking for some cute ideas for centerpieces. I really like the idea of floating candles…maybe?

Gardenias are a summer flower here. I had them in my bouquet. I had a totally white bouquet with just some greenery for color. It was beautiful. If you want some color, I would do the silver ribbon.
Our colors were navy blue and silver. We used some navy blue watermarked fabric and painted silver glitter paint in a star pattern on it and used that as the base for our centerpiece. Then we put two yellow and one white mini rose bushes or vice versa in color on the fabric with votive candles around them. The silver on the fabric caught the flicker of the candles and reflected off of it. They were gorgeous. We then let guests take the mini rose bushes home. Except for one white and one silver wich we still have growing in our rose garden 6 years later.
