Perfume History:
The art of making perfumes, called perfumery, was first developed in Egypt as early as before 7th century AD. Later this art was refined and modified by the Roman and Persian civilisations. In Ancient times, components like almonds, herbs, spices, flowers, resin, fragrant oils, aromatic water, etc were used for producing perfumes. In 14th century, the art of perfumery reached Europe and the first modern perfume was produced in 1370 in Hungary at the order of Queen Elizabeth. This first European perfume was named ‘Hungary Water’.

· Woody: they are also known as Chypre. They are most preferred by independent, free spirited, care free and confident women.
· Citrus: they are also called fruity fragrances. They have citrus fragrances and notes in them, generally of lemon, orange, apple, grape, cherry, raspberry, etc. These are generally preferred by many women as they are refreshing, and the fragrance stays with you for a long duration..
· Foody fragrances: also called gourmand, they contain “edible” fragrances. They can be food like fragrances like vanilla. Women who have nurturing qualities and are affectionate prefer them by nature.
· Oriental: they are on the heavier scented side of perfumes, and contain essence of spices, musk, etc. they leave a lasting impression and are a favourites amongst sensuous and bold women.
